The 3 Tips You Need To Help You Love Your Job

There are thousands of different tips to make you cope with your current occupation and even help you to continue doing the same exact thing over a lifetime. But let's be clear. There is just one way to truly love your job, and it is to choose it wisely. Unless you find what you are made for you will always be feeling like a city girl struggling to survive in the wild jungle. Yes! Although many people will argue it, there is a right match for you just around the corner. Find your way with the help of these 3 best tips to discover your career soulmate!

1. Have a clear vision of your working style

It is not about what you would like to be good at but what are you actually good for.

You should never start digging on a particular profession to follow without first reflecting on the kind of things you enjoy doing.

Are you a 'doer' getting excited with every tick on a completed task and coming alive when lists are checked? Do you rather feel like a fish in the water when creating a vision and inspiring others to follow and believe? Are you the kind of 'learner' meticulously trying to understand the nuances of a problem? Or is relationship-building what makes you completed? Take an honest view inside. There is no best way. Just the right direction for you. Finding the perfect match means to fit your interests within an occupation and not the other way around.

Holland Codes are a set of personality types developed by psychologist John L. Holland in the 1970s who argued that the choice of a vocation is an expression of personality. At least it should. He defined six different types of personalities (realisticinvestigativeartisticsocialenterprising and conventional) with varying traits of character in which most people will fit into a few of them. By ranking these types, starting with those you have the most interest in, to those that interest you the least, you can find your specific Holland Code and a close approach to this you are meant to be.

Do not forget that we tend to love the most those things we do the best!

2. Fit your job with your desired lifestyle.

You will never have a soulmate job unless it does fit with your idea of a comprehensive life. It is absolutely needed to envision life priorities and to make sure that your job is able to keep them in order.  So ask yourself, what is your preferred structure for concepts such us money, passion, freedom, flexibility or security?

It is rare that a job can have it all. Sometimes we will be willing to sacrifice some money to get some extra flexibility or some passion for matching with an extra push of security and certainty. And this is just a reasonable personal and revisable choice. Leave conventionalism behind when creating your compromises. Not everybody needs fame to feel accomplished or a well-nurtured bank account. Nor everybody wants flexibility. Yes! There are people enjoying the 9 - 5, women that prefer to stay home raising kids and men who enjoy ballet.

3. Forget about clichés

And welcome to real life.

Finding the job you love will never mean finding the perfect job.No. There is no ideal job because even if yours is close to perfection, you can always be better paid, better known and an infinite list of other better something. Life is not ideal. We are changeable and have changeable needs. This is called reality and has the positive effect of keeping us alive, excited and ready for development and improvement. It allows us to grow. It prepares us for the new. It helps us to evolve.

There are no perfect bosses, as there are not perfect people. We are not perfect. We all do have bad days even though we put effort into caring about those around us. Sometimes we are not productive, we are down, or we have a headache. Even in our soulmate job, there are not perfect times, no ideal days, no perfect tasks. You can also get to a day you would prefer to stay in bed rather than heading to the office or opening your laptop. It can be normal to lose the initial excitement when your job is not new anymore. This happens as our brain gets extra activated when it receives a new stimulus and come back to normal stages when the stimulus become a routine. This way is often that people start losing hope when they stop feeling the same levels of excitement than on the first day. But not always feeling butterflies in your stomach is not an indicator for being in the wrong path.

Have you found what you are searching for? This thing you are good at because it does match with your strengths and it does not require you to lose energy on those other things you are not suitable for? Does this job allow you to live your life the way you want? No? Then you surely have to get looking around.

Have you found it, otherwise? Does it fit with all these criteria? Congrats.  You made it through! Now you just need to get ready to persevere and be kind with life, yourself and others. Remember. Nothing great in life comes easy and keeping the good things we have requires commitment and massive doses of a positive mindset.

There is a way to happiness. But is never just a 'perfect' way!
